KLA Schools Franchise Passes Test for Managed Growth
Five early childhood education schools open; five more planned to open in 2012
[MIAMI, FLORIDA] – KLA Franchise, LLC, the early childhood education franchise inspired by the widely recognized Reggio Emilia approach, bid farewell to 2011 with five schools open and rang in the New Year resolved to open another five pre-school franchises in 2012.
“We are thrilled with our rate of growth and our prospects for the future,” said Roberto Ortega, who along with his wife, Candy, co-founded KLA Franchise in 2008. “Even with the recession and its lingering effects, we continue to experience strong interest in our KLA Schools franchise opportunity.”
The first KLA School opened in 2008 in downtown Miami, FL. The Coral Gables, FL, KLA School opened in 2009 and a third followed in Aventura, FL, in 2010. Two additional Florida pre-schools opened in 2011: one June 8 in Pembroke Pines and another November 21 in Doral.
“We chose to pursue a business opportunity that involved our shared passion for children and their interactions with their surroundings,” said Christina Muci, who along with Ms. Patricia Monaco, franchised the Pembroke Pines school. “As we researched more about the KLA system, we knew we wanted to develop a Reggio Emilia inspired learning center.”
According to a report from HIS Global Insight for the International Franchise Association Educational Foundation, franchise businesses should show signs of recovery in 2012. “The forecast for modest growth is good news for the franchise industry and the overall economy given that franchising supports 12 percent of the U.S. private sector workforce, “ said IFA President & CEO Stephen J. Caldeira.
“For 2012, we will open three more Florida schools in Palmetto Bay, West Kendall, and Weston,” added Ortega. “The exciting news is that this year we will expand our Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education west beyond Florida to Walnut Creek, CA, and Bellevue, WA.”
“A KLA School franchise is not a cookie cutter child-care learning center, but an environment where each child’s abilities, competence, and natural aptitude, are nurtured in ways that develop new and inherent talents,” said Jim Steger, KLA Franchise director of franchising. “There’s genuine and growing interest in our business model. Our goal is to create a community of Reggio Emilia inspired franchised schools throughout America. Future KLA Schools are penciled in for Dallas and Houston, TX, and Chicago, IL.”
