3. INDUSTRY

Becoming the owner of a KLA Schools® franchise puts you in the position to outpace many other business sectors in terms of creating a new business and new jobs. Childcare franchises consistently rank in Entrepreneur, Franchise Times and Inc. magazines' "top franchises." Franchise Times' 2009 Fast 55 included nine child-related or education-related businesses and 10 child-related franchises ranked in the top 200 of Entrepreneurs' 2009 Franchise 500.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, opportunities for self-employment in this industry are among the best. Child daycare services provided about 859,200 wage and salary jobs in 2008 and about 428,500 of all workers in the industry are self-employed or unpaid family workers (nearly 50 percent). Wage and salary jobs in the child day care services industry are projected to grow about 15 percent over the 2008-18 period, compared with the 11 percent employment growth projected for all industries combined.

The flourishing childcare market is expected to remain strong. Our nation is extremely focused upon childcare, so much so that, since 2008, childcare franchises collectively grew by almost 600 in their U.S. franchise counts. Furthermore, childcare enrollment in urban markets is expected to grow five percent annually. Among brands that do not provide drop-in services, childcare revenues increased in 2007 and are expected to continue to do so as demand improves and brands continue to gain modest tuition increases.
